the bay area, you'll see mostly clear skies. here's a live look at downtown san francisco through the financial district, temperatures in the 30s and 40s. oakland at 58 degrees. low 50s in san jose. what's in store for the rest of the day. we have a pretty strong ridge of high pressure and it's been building since other the weekend. it continues into today through the afternoon. we'll be keeping temperatures mainly in the 60s for the most part. mid- to upper 60s by this afternoon, and once again, we have some big changes coming up by about midweek, so you'll notice this wednesday forecast. we have a good chance of rain moving across the bay area and things again remain unsettled through the weekend coming about friday night into saturday. we'll talk more about this coming up. in the meantime, traffic on this monday morning. >>> we just got word of a trouble spot involving a big rig that may have took out some power lines on fair month between 580 and lake shaboe . try toe avoid the intersection. san leandro, 580 and lake shaboe. elsewhere we have road work, southbound 101 through
on the san francisco street and has died. the man and a woman were found bound and gagged in the middle of brussel street in the bay view district . they were rushed to san francisco general hospital. the man died at midnight. the woman is being treated for life threatening injuries. police have no motive or suspects. >>> this morning vallejo police are searching for a missing 77- year-old man. family members say philip maddingly had been called to fix a boat on saturday. he's 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with hazel eyes and surgery scars on his left arm. they comed through waters yesterday and called the serge off because of rough currents. >>> a crash involving a car and caltrain in san francisco, a northbound train hit a car around 6 last night at the 16 16th the street intersection. that's near the caltrains depot at 4th and townsend. no one was hurt in the crash but northbound tracks were shut down well into the evening while the car was removed and inspectors made sure that the equipment was safe. >>> there's another community meeting tonight to give people in san jose a chance to talk
for allegedly running down four pedestrians near twin peaks in san francisco and killing one of them. the group is walking on christmas tree point road about 9:00 last night when they were hit knocking them down a hillside. the female driver was arrested nearby with two male companions. >>> antioch police looking for a second suspect after a chase that ended in a crash. officers were trying to stop two people who allegedly robbed the bonfair market an 10th street around 1 a.m. the driver slammed into a retaining wall. one man was arrested at the scene, a second got away. >>> a sinkhole in lafayette is open to reopen mountain view drive. the 80 by 40-foot hole opened up during heavy rain this month. the work is ahead of schedule and far enough along to open the road for christmas. more work will be done after the new year. >> because we didn't get this done, i will see you next week. >> washington leaders leave hort holidays and leave a "fiscal cliff" compromise on -- leave for the holidays and leave a "fiscal cliff" compromise on hold. what's left to find common ground with only days to make a
homeless. this is in san francisco. it ripped through several apartment buildings. that fire broke out just after 9:30 yesterday morning on 23rd street, quickly spread to the near by buildings. firefighters worked for almost 2 the hours to contain it. 5 unit buildings were involved. three of them appear to be a total loss. no one was injured. the red cross is helping people forced out of their homes. they're opening up a center today for those people. >>> police announced the arrest of three more suspects in the murder of a man. raveesh kumar kumra former own of the famed mountain winery was killed during a home invasion on november 30th. police say that lucas anderson, javier garcia and deanglo austin were arrested. 22-year-old raven dixon was also arrested. police are not released details about what led to the arrest or the relationships between the suspects. three major cities with two days to go oakland is at 130 homicides for the year. 26% increase from 2011. san francisco 67 homicides so far. 1/3 increase over last night. san jose is 45, still low for a city of almost a million people
